A pair of 'Domus' armchairs by Ilmari Tapiovaara for Artek
The classic chair Domus is designed by Ilmari Tapiovaara in 1946 for the Finnish furniture company Artek. The modern chair, which also goes under the name ”The Finn Chair” in US, was developed to meet the different needs on Domus Academica’s dorms in Helsinki. The university chair was at first thought of as a office chair in the student’s room, however it came to be uses in both the dining areas and at the offices. Domus is produced in bent wood and its characteristic short arms mean that the Domus Chair can be pulled close to a table, perfect for studying at a desk and dining, while offering the necessary support and comfort.
The chair Domus comes in a black lacquered frame and the seat is upholstered in navy textile.
Seat height: 48 cm
